In today’s video, we’re going to show you how to Use Salesforce Data Import Wizard. Sometimes, you need to insert or update many records for the same object in bulk, and manually doing so would take too much time. Thankfully, Salesforce has its own tool that can cover this at once called the Data Import Wizard. If you have under 50,000 records to import or update, you can use this tool – otherwise, you’ll need to use Data Loader. If you’re unsure which tool to use, check out our blog post on the differences between the two tools.

In order to use Data Import Wizard, we’ll also need to prepare a CSV file of the data we want to import. Each column should represent a field, and each row should represent a record’s data.

Once your CSV file is prepared, follow these steps:

1. Navigate to Setup.
2. In the Quick Find Box, type and select Data Import Wizard.
3. Select Launch Wizard.
4. Select the object you’re importing records to.
5. Tell Salesforce what you want to do with these records. In this case, we’re adding new ones.
6. Upload your CSV and select Next.
7. Now we can map the fields. Salesforce can do these automatically based on how you mapped the fields.
8. Click Next, and Start Import.
9. Once the import is complete, you can then view the results of your import.
