In this video, we’ll show you how to access the Recycle Bin in Salesforce. In order to do this, and depending on what data you’re accessing in the Recycle Bin, you’ll need certain permissions enabled first. We’ll walk you through what you need to access the Recycle Bin and what you need to know about restoring and purging data in the Recycle Bin.

If you’re looking to view and recover your own deleted records, you’ll need Read permissions on the records in the Recycle Bin.
If you’re looking to view and recover records deleted by other users, you’ll need Modify All Data.
If you’d like to recover deleted public tags, you’ll need the permission of Tag Manager.
And finally, if you’d like to purge the Recycle Bin, you’ll need Modify All Data.

Now that we have our permissions enabled, here’s how to access the Recycle Bin in Salesforce:

1. Select the App Launcher Menu.
2. Search for ‘Recycle Bin’ and select it when it appears in the search menu.
3. The items that you have recently deleted will appear here. If you have the Modify All Data permission, you can choose “Org Recycle Bin” to view all data for the entire org.

If items have been in the recycle bin for fewer than 15 days, you can choose to restore them, or you can purge them manually.
Once items are purged they cannot be recovered.
