In this video, we’ll show you how to check the Record Type ID of a Record Type in Salesforce. You’ll need to have access to the Record Type ID whenever you are referencing a record type in changes you are making within your Salesforce Org. We will be locating the 18-Digit ID in Lightning Experience today, but if you need the 15-Digit, you can remove the last three digits of the 18-Digit ID. You can find the ID in the Setup menu – here’s how to find it:

1. Navigate to the Setup menu.
2. Under Object Manager, select the Object for the Record Type ID you’re looking for.
3. Select Record Types.
4. Select the Record You’re looking to retrieve the ID for.
5. In the URL, the record type ID is the characters found after “RecordTypes/”.
